What $675,000 Buys You in Three Seattle Suburbs

In 2020, the typical Seattle-area home sold for roughly $675,000. But "typical” looked different in Bainbridge Island, Sammamish, and Kent.

Bainbridge Island

Home prices are a little lower in Kitsap County—on Bainbridge Island, this pair of 1903 cottages on a sunny half-acre sold for $657,000 in November. Well-maintained exposed-grain walls grace both floors of the three-bedroom main house, with rustic ceilings above. The smaller three-bedroom home brings the total bedroom count to six.

Sammamish

An exposed-grain vaulted ceiling, pellet stove, wall of windows, wraparound cedar deck, and woodland setting of this 1974 Sammamish home make it feel like a remote cabin, only much closer to schools and groceries. Wood accents continue throughout, including two bedrooms and a loft. It sold in December for $676,000.

Kent

This five-bedroom house bursts with 1966 swank. A classic brick-pillar pass-through fireplace bisects an open living room with a wood-slat vaulted ceiling. Two cozy dens leave plenty of extra space for entertaining. The home, plus the half-acre it sits on, sold in October for $650,000.
